Before I begin, I'd like everyone to know that I probably have no idea what I'm doing.
Now, I'm trying to convert a video I recorded with Open Broadcaster Software to a series of frames. I'm using Adobe Media Encoder CS5.
Unfortunately, I find the exported image quality unsatisfactory.
Here are some examples:
Below is a screenshot of the movie I took with VLC Media Player.

In my opinion, the quality here is flawless. Zoom in -- the pixel edges are quite pronounced.

If you zoom in, you'll notice annoying little pixel echos. I feel like the image has been ever so slightly scaled and then re-scaled.
Here are two comparisons.

Notice the VLC screenshot is quite crisp and precise. I'd like to see that same pixel precision on every frame I export.
It's quite clear I'm losing quality with AME.

What am I doing wrong?
I've tried many, many times to match the source video's settings when I export.

I've tried different settings and all the different image formats. Nothing is working for me. It probably shouldn't matter so much, but I'm a stickler for quality.
So, does anyone know what I'm doing wrong? I used a high bitrate to record the original video, so I'm certain it's not the original video's quality. Also,
VLC has consistently taken perfect-looking screenshots.
Does anyone know of a program that will export a nice series of crisp frames for me?
