Hey All,
First post here. I have a 2009 MacPro that I have sitting around doing not a lot. I do all my editing on my MacBookPro Retina Late 2013, 2.3GHz i7 with 16GB RAM. I predominately edit R3D files in Premiere and use Audition and Speedgrade also. Obviously, rendering out of my MacBookPro Retina using the NVIDIA GeForce GT 750M 2048MB is time consuming.
I'm just wondering if Adobe Encoder used multiple GPU cards for rendering things like ProRes, h.264 etc.
I'd like to see how much I can still get out my MacPro, not for editing but for using as a render machine so i can send stuff to the MacPro and let that render out. My MacPro is a 8-core 2.26GHz. Its currently got the ATI Radeon HD 4870 512MB GPU in there too - which I'd obvisouly update also.
Is it worth my upgrading this, plus adding in two additional GPU cards to help accelerate encoding in AME???
Thanks in advance
Steve
