Adobe Media Encoder is not installed, but it is

So I just bought Creative Cloud and have just started to try to figure out how to use After Effects today.

I have imported a movie and added some text animations, and I am trying to export the video to the Media Encoder but I keep getting the following error.

AEGP Plugin AEDynamicLInkServer: Adobe Media Encoder is not installed. Please download and install it to use this feature. Go to https://creative.adobe.apps . ( 5027 :: 12 )

After I click "OK" I get the next message:

AEGP Plugin AEDynamicLinkServer: Failed to connect to Adobe Media Encoder. ( 5027 :: 12 )

So I really don't know what do because I have just started using After Effects but I would like some input on how to fix it because I would be able to like to export a video at some point.

The Render Engine is installed but whenever I try to open it nothing happens but After Effects opens again. At one point I had four After Effects open at once and didn't realize it.

If it matters, I did install the CUDA plugin.

So if anyone could give me some information or support on this matter I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks.

How to add moov atom?

Since upgrading to CS6,when I upload my videos to You Tube I keep getting a notice that I need to adjust my Quicktime settings to prepare videos for internet streaming. Which is easy enough with Quicktime, just chexk the prepare for fast streaming box, with iFFMPEG it also one of the custom choices available by checking the "write moov atom" box. I cannot find the equivilent in AME. Are there presets that do write the moov atom.

Queue Not Working

Recently, out of the blue, if I queue projects to render in AME, it simply won't work. AME opens, allows me to assemble a queue, I press play and then nothing, after 10-15 minutes of waiting, I get a generic error message and that's it. Nothing.

If I use File > Export Media and do it that way, I can export single projects at a time but I need a queue option.

I understand there are many others with this same issue, is there a fix?

Issue with AE and AME -- Dynamic Link?

I am using After Effecs CC and I am trying to open the .aep file in Adobe Media Encoder CC (to export as a MPEG file).  I am getting an error stating: "Could not connect to Adobe After Effects.  Please verify that Aobde After Effects and Adobe Dynamic Link components are installed".

I have both AE and AME open and running.  In the menu for AE I have the Dynamic Link menu available.  However, when opening the .aep file in AME I always get this error.

Linear workflow issues with Media Encoder CC 2014

I'm using After Effects CC 2014 and doesn't seem to be the option anymore to export via AE to H264. There used to be a button in the preferences to enable outdated codecs... not there anymore with CC 2014. So... I added my renders into Media Encoder. The problem is that it is not calculating my project working in Linear Workflow so all my renders are very dark & wrong colors.

Anyone find a work around for this? is there a button in Media Encoder that I need to switch on for linear workflow?

Is there a way to include Scaling Options within an AME preset?

I'm using AME to export stills from the first frame of a large library of videos. I've got a preset setup to export a thumbnail image so I can import the footage, apply the preset, and press render. Since the thumbnail image is 80x80 pixels, AME is scaling the video down to fit the image horizontally and creating letter boxing on the top and bottom. I've found that I can apply the preset, and then click the preset name in the queue to access additional options. Within these options is "Scaling Options" and if I change the setting from "Scale to Fit" to "Scale to Fill" I end up with my desired results.

I realize that by doing this, the video fills the full 80x80 image, and some portions are cropped off on the left and right side. But I'm okay with the cropping, I really just need the video to fill the full 80x80 image. Here's an animated GIF demonstrating the process (sorry if it takes a bit to load, it's 2.5MB).

What I'm looking for is a way to integrate the "Scale to Fill" option directly into the preset. So that I can create a watch folder using the preset and anytime I drop a video file into the watch folder, AME will automatically generate an 80x80px thumbnail that has the video fill the full image frame. Having to manually adjust this setting each and every time is still faster than manually creating the preview image, but prevents me from having it be automated. Anyone have any ideas?

Why AME takes twice the time for the same conversion?

Hi all!

Yesterday I made a video conversion with Adobe Media Encoder CS6 and it took about half the time it is taking now...same file, same conversion, same machine, same tasks, double time...WHY???

Thank you in advance.

Media Encoder Greater that 7.0 does not recongnise SD footage with correct pixel aspect ratio

Hello,

I logged this bug with Adobe last year but even through the latest releases the bug still remains and is a real issue for anyone editing in SD via Premiere Pro CC.

Effectvely when you create a PAL sequence within Premiere Pro CC using SD 720x576 pixels (4:3) you have 2 options to export, either Queue or Export. If you export the footage directly from the PP application to MPEG2 SD then the resulting files are perfect, however if you use the queue option and send it to Media Encoder then the resulting files are incorrectly interpreted and the resulting file looks squashed. I suspect the Media Encoder is defaulting to Square pixels and not 1.09xx which is the default for PAL SD 4:3

The issue only started on Media Encoder version 7.1 but I also checked 7.2 and this still has the bug.

I can't believe this is not effecting a lot of people and its taking so long to resolve. Adobe at the time acknowledged the issue but did not provide a time scale to fix.

If anyone has any words of wisdom I would love to hear from you. Maybe I am missing a simple workaround ?? Which could be to just export and NOT queue, however because I use the batch function a lot this is not always viable.

thanks

Steve

New computer - slow encoding!

I got a new computer Saturday and had hoped to see a difference in encoding time, but thus far it appears to be about the same. Specs are: Windows 8.1 (64), 32GB RAM, i7 4770 @ 3.5Ghz, GeForce GTX760 (not CUDA supported), 120GB SSD for OS and Adobe, and Adobe CC 2014. I've got a 4 minute video that I shot in 29.97fps 1080p and am exporting to same. Only effects are Warp Stabilizer and a couple Lumetri Looks effects. All have been rendered. AME 2014 took approximately 45 minutes to export. I checked the memory settings, and 27GB of the 32GB is usable by Premiere, AME, etc, and has been optimized for performance. My old computer had CUDA support, and this one doesn't - is this the major difference? However, render time in Premiere is significantly faster. Do I have some settings wrong that are slowing down export speed?

No support for WAVE MPEG 3 files?!

It seems AME does not support WAVE encoded with MPEG 3 data?  For example this file (see screenshot link) opens fine in Audition CC but Media Encoder says the compression is not supported? I don't know how that is possible, but it's a major bug if that's the case. This is the format most radio programing is distributed in.

Media Encoder error about activation when exporting in activated version of Premiere CS4

I get the following error when I try to export media in Premiere CS4 (Note: I have a legal and activated copy of CS4 Master Collection). In Premiere, it appears to go through (the loading progress bar fills and then disappears) but when I check the folder, it's empty. And then I notice that there's another icon in my taskbar and oh hey, it says "AMT Subsystem Error: Thank you for using Adobe Media Encoder CS5. The Adobe product that installed Media Encoder has not activated. Please launch and activate that Adobe product before continuing to use Media Encoder."

I'm using Windows 7 x64 (8gb of RAM). I tried installing the patch as suggested in this thread: http://forums.adobe.com/thread/719451 but it only claimed to not have the corresponding program installed. I tried checking to see if there were any updates - there weren't.

A quick check on my computer reveals that both Media Encoder CS4 and CS5 are installed. I looked to see if there was a way to uninstall the CS5 version but didn't see it. The only way I think I could have gotten it was though some sort of Adobe update.

Any ideas of how to fix this?

Adobe Media Encoder: Audio won't export with video

I am trying to convert an AVCHD video for viewing on my iPad 3. I use Adobe Media Encoder and select the iPad 2 settings (1920x1080) and it exports the video perfect, but no audio. I have "Export Audio" checked off. I tried it with 5 other settings and it just wont include the audio. Any ideas?

Mpeg2 encodes have black at the bottom

Any Idea what could be causing this:

Only happens with mpeg2.

Only happens with Adobe Media Encoder 2014, CC is fine.

Mercury Playback Engine Setting makes no difference.

Size of black changes with frame size.

Have tried a re-install

Any ideas on how to fix this would be much appreciated.

1st pic is 576p and the 2nd is 1080p

Thanks

Media Encoder CS6 Presets Mac

Where are the presets contained on a Mac? I've looked every where. Loaded the Pro Res presets to many times & there are multiples showing up in AME. Confussing & I would like to delete them.

Is there a way to merge videos together with AME, or with other Adobe product(s)?

Ideally, I would like to import three videos into the Adobe Media Encoder for re-encoding and merge them together into only one resulting video file.  Is this possible?

Media Encoder CC 2014 export for UK DPP v1.1 AS-11 has only 4 channels audio???

Trying to export an AS-11 UK DPP 1.1 with 10 channels. Export in AME has only 4 channels audio with no options to add more. The UK DPP spec allows for 16.

CUDA issue continues

again it happens and no fix

queue of mpeg2 DVD and H.264 (anyway the 2 formats I use) keeps failing randomly. my workflow and camera footage are the same for like 3 years

the only things that changes are Adobe bugs from update to update.

my workaround is

a. export directly from premiere

b.turn of CUDA accelerationto software

both this workaround makes AME useless, maybe it is fixed in CC 2014 but I have issue with audio dropout so I'm waiting for this fix first

Adobe please do your job, I don't think it's my problem only and I do this for living, too many critical bugs

Target & Max Bit Rate - A Little confusing Need file to be 15 GB Blu-Ray Help????

I have a 2 and a half hour project on PPro CS 5.5 that I want to encode in H.264 Blu-Ray.  I want to get it to 15 GB.

What woud be the best settings to do so?

The Target Bit Rate and Max Bit Rate have a lot to do with it, but I am a little confused on what each of them really do.

I just want to get it to 15 GB and make sure the Estimated file size somewhat accurate.

Is 15 GB too big for a Blu-Ray?

Thanks in advance

PPro CS 5.5

Media Encoder 5.5.

Thanks in advance

CS6: Premiere exports MXF Op1a (mpeg based) but Media Encoder does not.

As a company we use several local machines with a full installation of CS6.

Premiere Pro exports in our broadcast format (MXF Op1a - mpeg based - Long GOP - 50Mb - Top Field First - etc...) still Media Encoder does not.

They we both installed in the same procedure, full installation of CS6. MXF presets are present on both directories (Premiere and Media Encoder).

ME simply doesn't recognize "any know exporters" even if I force a preset, when it comes to MXF.

We have to import every single video into Premiere to export as MXF. It's difficult to create an effective workflow this way.

Any thoughts on why is this happening?

NOTE:

- Updated twice all machines - first to 6.0.3, now to 6.0.5 = no result

- Copied presets from a working trial installation = no result

- Microsoft based OS core i7 with 12Gb RAM, 3Tb HD and Nvidia Quadro 4000
