AME CC can't see files for render

Hi!

When I try to export a short sequence from Adobe Premiere Pro CC I hit queue button and AME CC opened with current sequence prepared for rendering. When I hit green arrow to start render it opens a pop up window and said: "Offline material is present in this export and will be encoded using the Offline Media graphic" ?! What offline material? All media is online. I go back to Adobe Premiere Pro CC and hit export button, and everything was OK. With Adobe Premiere Pro CC everything was renderd as it should be and with AME CC i got rendered Offline Media graphic when I hit continue in a warning pop up window. Everything was the same (settings, files, location for rendered files, all media is loaded correctly...) different is just the rendering software.

Anyone have an idea why is that happening?

Thank you!

Thoughts on using AME to transcode Blu-Ray video...?

My workflow for Blu-Ray and DVD from Premiere to Encore has had to change since the demise of the Dynamic Link (due to the lack of an Encore CC).

In many ways this has turned out to be a good thing.

My typical project is an opera performance captured on a high-end consumer camcorder (Sony HDR-CX550V) which records an AVCHD folder full of clips. I edit the project in Premiere, adding titles, chapter marks, dissolves etc. I have started to make two-camera projects as well.

I was distraught when I discovered that the link between Premiere and Encore no longer worked in Premiere CC, but soon discovered a great deal of power and flexibility in setting the file sizes by varying the target bit rate and making other changes (such as changing the default PCM sound to Dolby Digital which takes up a lot less space).

I have discovered a curious anomaly, though, with my Blu-Ray transfers. I understand that the preferred file for Encore to ingest as Blu-Ray would be the h.264 Blu-Ray but have discovered that it takes several hours to transcode...and once I'm done, Encore wants to transcode it all over again...another significant time period wasted. An opera such as MAGIC FLUTE, which the company played in 2 hours 51 minutes (without intermissions, etc.) took FIVE hours to transcode to h.264 Blu-Ray and then Encore listed it as a file to transcode (another 2 hours or so).

Along with the added time, the process requires so many multiple transcodes I can't imagine some quality is not lost.

I decided to experiment with the MPEG-2 Blu-Ray setting and found that while it made larger files (still controllable by setting the bit rate...it wants to choose 30 but since the CAMERA can't provide a file with more than 21, setting the target bit rate at 20 makes the video just about fit, with auudio set as Dolby Digital).

The encode time for the above file is just above 1 1/2 hours. Encore ultimately takes some time to index the file (maybe 20 minutes) but puts a "don't transcode" marker on it so no further transcode is done. However, it comes up with a message complaining that the metadata is corrupt and recommending that I delete the .XMPSES file (but will lose my chapter markings). I delete the file, re-import the .m2v file...the chapter markings come in just fine. Is there a reason AME has to make this .XMPSES file in a way that Encore has something to complain about?

Also...is there a reason AME can't output an h.264 file that doesn't have to be re-processed by Encore? I understand .m4v is more advanced and efficient...but if creating one is such a more difficult, time-consuming process and I get a more-than-acceptable result with the .m2v Blu-Ray file, is there any logical reason why I should still consider the "preferred" h.264 encoding?

Is there a way to send a composition directly to Media Encoder from After Effects? Similar to 'Add t

In After Effects CS6-

I'm working on revising compositions and was wondering if there is a way to send it directly to the Media Encoder as easily as adding it to the regular render queue.

Is there some way to make the render queue link to ME?

Trying to bypass having to open the encoder link every time.

AME Not showing Video in Preview after Lion 10.7.3 Update

I've been using AME daily for a few months working solid and fast now ran lion 10.7.3 update and lots of weird things happening. The most consistent is the video is not able to be viewed in the preview scree, however, if you hit encode it the video encodes sometimes fine other times just black. I read somewhere thet lion 10.7.3 included lots of video specific updates but this one screwed me.  Anyone have a work around? I tried compressor and that thing kept hanging too.

Are the prefs or something I can trash?  That use to work for some issues on FCP.

Export AVI from Adobe Media Encoder Mac

I would like to export AVI files from Adobe Media Encoder (CS5 or later) on a Mac running 10.6.8 or later. Am I able to buy the codecs for Mac to do so?

Compatibility of export presets between CS5.5 and CS6?

I have a ton of custom presets that I've developed over several years. I tried importing them into CS6 by copying the custom presets from here:

\Users\<user_name>\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Common\AME\5.0

to here:

\Users\<user_name>\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Common\AME\6.0

I can see the custom presets in AME but only SOME of the presets in the export settings format/preset boxes from Premiere Pro CS6. e.g. AVI show up but not the presets for H264 or Windows Media formats etc (they don't appear).

Are the presets incompatible between CS5.5 and CS6 for some formats (maybe there are new settings that weren't in the old version)?

Thanks,

Paul.

AME CS5 refuses to work for us

Hello,

We have recently upgraded to Windows 7/64 bit and CS5 Production Premium. We are an Avid post house with 4 Avid systems running on a Unity server.

All of our material is digitized to this Unity 32tb server.  CS4 worked perfectly in this environment. However, when we are exporting Quicktime reference files from our Avid Media Composer version 5.x systems, the files just hang when trying to make FLV's with cue points (and other files). I've reinstalled the app, reinstalled the codecs, and still nothing. This is a critical piece of software for us and we need it to work for the amount of money we paid for 10 seats of it.

I'm on an HP Z800, 24gig of Ram, 100gig available on local drive and 7tb available on Unity drives.  Any help appreciated.

MPEG-1

Hi,

Is it possible that I install MPEG-1 in Adobe Media Encoder?

I work with Mac OS X 10.9.1

Exporting Premiere Pro CS6 project to AVI

Can sounds a little funny, but since I've upgraded to Creative Cloud CS6 I am experiencing troubles finding out how to convert any file to AVI output format. I can't find the right format in the Presets pannel for that (amongst the system presets in the panel on the right).

Will a CUDA graphics card improved encoding speed for H.264 output?

Hello - my system does great with live rendering and the editing environment but I am looking at ways to improve my output encoding speed.  I primarly output video for the web using h.264 and the Vimeo or YouTube presets.  I have an ATI Radeon HD 5770 graphics card and 24 GB of RAM and multiple hard drives.

I was wondering if an Nvidia card with CUDA support would improve my encoding speeds?  I know there are other benefits, but encoding is my primary concern for the time being.  Could find any stats on this easily with google so I thought I would ask.

Thanks,
Damon

AME - Unknown Error encoding failed/freeze/hangs h.264

Hi Guys,

I am using Premiere  Pro CS (6.0.3) update. I have been working on Premiere , After Effects  and AME for at least 1 year. I bought Adobe Production Premium Box. Usually I use footage from Canon 5d and  GOPRO 2 and 3. Lately, longer video have been  crashing after 10 min  when rendering to H.264 - mov or just h.246 in 1080p 25fps (both using AME and Direct Export in Premiere). I  never had this problem before with longer videos (10 min long and more). I tried different source paths, no effects, frame blending, turn of Mercury Playback engine.

Messages:Unknown Error Encoding failed - if using AME (sheep sound)

Or: Freeze - the program does not repond and I have to close it

Using direct premiere export - freezes or just stands still during rended/hangs.

MXF, loosles AVI seems fine.

I tried different projects and all formats. I checked CPU temp and it is max 60C.

I lost all hope. Is it hardware?

Windows 7 Enterprise 64bit

MB Asus m4a785t evo

AMD Phenom II x4 955BE

Nvidia GTX 580 DCII (Cuda)

SSD - system (256GB)

2 x hdd 7200 (2x500GB)

Ps.  i used cache clean, mercury playback on/off, different GPU - still  crashes on H.264 (Youtube 1080, Vimeo 1080, Android Table 1080 25fps)

Any tips?

Adobe Media Encoder does not encode

The only way I can get Media Encoder to work with Premiere is to export directly in Premiere first to a file, and then take that file into Media Encoder. When exporting from Premiere, Media Encoder acts like it is working, but never encodes anything. It shows elapsed time that continues to count up, but never shows any remaining time and never shows any video in the output preview. It doesn't seem to matter what the encode codec is. (What I'm trying to encode to is MP4).

Please advise.

System:

OSX 10.7.4

16 GB Ram

Quad 3.0Ghz dual core

16 TB external RAID storage (600 Meg/Sec sustained)

Video sourced from and to the raid for encoding attempts.

Premiere will encode direclty using same presets.

Missing AME CS6 Presets

Not sure why I cannot chose Quicktime or AVI in Media Encoder. I can render out any way I want from Premiere. I can render/export directly from Premiere, but when I queue it out to AME it defaults to F4V and won't even give me an option for Quicktime (DNxHD) or AVI (Cineform).

Here are my options in Premiere (normal)

Here it is in AME once it's been queued out from Premiere.

What gives? I have CS6 updated completely as of today, 6/22.

Media Encoder CC crashes on startup

I just bought and installed the lasted version of the CS suite through the cloud. Everything else seems to be working so far, except Media Encoder CC. When I downloaded all of the software, it came with both Media Encoder CC and CS6. CS6 works just fine. CC keeps crashing on start up.

Media Encoder CC version 7.0.1

As I said, everything including Media Encoder CS6 works fine. They open, I can do stuff, save, and close. But when I try to start up Media Encoder CC, I get the splash screen, then a Problem Report for Adobe Media Encoder CC. The details of the message are as follows:

Other than the spect on my machine, I have no idea what that means. I looked at the reason in the middle of all that, but it doesn't make sense. Why would it be looking for older versions of the libraries if it's a new version of the software? Also, the interesting thing to note is that in the chart it reports 7 crashes. That corresponds with the number of times I've tried to open the app. Please help!!

Thanks in advanced!

Target & Max Bit Rate - A Little confusing Need file to be 15 GB Blu-Ray Help????

I have a 2 and a half hour project on PPro CS 5.5 that I want to encode in H.264 Blu-Ray.  I want to get it to 15 GB.

What woud be the best settings to do so?

The Target Bit Rate and Max Bit Rate have a lot to do with it, but I am a little confused on what each of them really do.

I just want to get it to 15 GB and make sure the Estimated file size somewhat accurate.

Is 15 GB too big for a Blu-Ray?

Thanks in advance

Media Encoder 5.5.

Adobe Media Encoder (AME) won't start!!

Adobe Media Encoder (AME) won't start!!

i have this problem and i can see that many people have it too!!

when you gonna tell us the solution!!!

2 pass f4v fails at start of second pass

Has anyone had problems with f4v export in AME?

Single pass CBR is OK but when I created a preset with 2 pass VBR (tried various different settings), the encode fails just after it starts the second pass with an error compiling movie - unknown error.

No problems with any other encodes that I know of.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Paul.

Adobe Media Encoder 7.2 update available now!

How to change variable frame rate to constant?

Hello,

I am exporting a mpeg HDV file that has a constant frame rate to a H264 video (.mp4) video to upload to a web-base video player. I'm actually using the preset in Media Encoder "YouTube HD 720p 29.97".

The online video web interface I use requires a constant frame rate. But when looking at the video in MediaInfo it shows the video file as a variable frame rate. After looking through the settings in Media Encoder I cannot find any option to correct that.  I see where you can change the frame rate and it is at 29.97. So you would think it would be constant but it is not. And it does not have any settings, that I can see, to change from variable to constant. I do see the bitrate settings, but that is not the issue.

I also have Apple Compressor and that successfuly does a constant frame rate, but if possible I'd rather use Adobe Media Encoder. So does anybody know how to change this setting? Thank you

No audio on H264 outputs created from mpeg original

Hi

This has happened twice now, and I'm not sure what cleared it before

I've created a clip using 'Match Sequence settings' and created an mpeg file which has audio.  If I automatically (using the my watchfolder option) or manually, by dragging into AME create a wmv or H264 version, they have no audio!

Any ideas?

I'm using CC on a windows PC with a FX3800 NVidea card.  CUDA as renderer

I think if I export stright to the H264 from PPro, that works fine

Thanks in advance
