AME Hangs on Export (mp3/mp4 incompatible)

I've seen this particular issue come up in the forums before but the fixes didn't really help out in my case and I may have pinned down the issue with my situation, at this point I'm looking for some insight as to why things are ending up the way they are.

On export ME reads the XML file, loads the metadata, and opens the encoder.  Everything loads just fine and when I hit start I get a black frame in the preview window and it never starts.  I can hit pause and play, the stop button doesn't respond, and if I close it out while it's "running" then there's no issue.  If I hit the stop button the encoder flatout stops responding and I have to manually kill a bunch of leftover processes via the Task Manager.

I tried a few different export formats, but this is coming up after I had just done a project where I exported 13 videos (with edits, AE comps included, etc).

I removed some mp3 audio tracks from the sequence (leaving 1 audio track containing audio from the camera) and it exported just fine; Adobe lists .mp3 as a supported audio format for export.

So I converted (via iTunes) my mp3 files to AAC (.mp4) and tried again.  Same situation.

The audio files were downloaded from Free Music Archive and I have had success with these kinds of audio tracks before.

QT has been updated.  I'm running CS5.5.

My question is this, has anyone else had this issue? If so, are there workarounds or anything I'm missing in this case?

Feature Request...

I know this isn't the official way to file a feature request (I've already done that), but I wanted to see if anyone else thought this would be a good idea.

I'd love to see an option to shut down the computer when AME has finished encoding what it has in the queue. I set something up last night to encode, and when it finished early in the morning, it'd have been nice if the computer would have shut down as opposed to running all night.

Maybe it's just me, but that sounds like a useful feature...

WMV export

I was wondering if there is a way to use Media Encoder to export files in WMV format using a Mac. It says here "Windows Media (WMV; Windows only)". Is there any possiblity to integrate a Mac - WMV converter like Flip4Mac into the Adobe Media Encoder.

I know that I can use Flip4Mac to export WMVs from QT Pro. But It would be nice to have one program where I can save all of my export presets for.

Is there a way to send a composition directly to Media Encoder from After Effects? Similar to 'Add t

In After Effects CS6-

I'm working on revising compositions and was wondering if there is a way to send it directly to the Media Encoder as easily as adding it to the regular render queue.

Is there some way to make the render queue link to ME?

Trying to bypass having to open the encoder link every time.

Video Encoding for DVD with Media Encoder

I've been struggling to get more videos on a DVD. Since I'm not an expert on this. Most of my vides are about an hour long and are mostly PowerPoint slides and screen capture of programming demonstrations.

I just keep wondering why DVDs I get to watch TV shows can have 4-6 hours of media when I can barely get two.

Any help would be appreciated.

Adobe Design Premium exporting MPEG II

I am working on a client PC.  They have adobe design premium cs5.5 (a version of the CS package I am not familiar with).

it is running on windows 7 64 bit professional.

They want to export MPEG II (for DVD) and H264 versions of files from a quicktime LT master.

I am seem to have very limited export setting available within media encoder, and no MPEG II.  Any suggestions on whether this is a set up problem, a legacy codec not included in adobe design premium 5.5 or some other problem which I have not thought of?

Can we get Adobe Media Encoder to shutdown the pc after encoding done?

Guys,

Can we get Adobe Media Encoder to shutdown the  pc after encoding done?

I have  searched but have not found anything suitable?

Is there someone who has script that can monitor the exe and then shutdown pc after encoding done?

Is there a way to merge videos together with AME, or with other Adobe product(s)?

Ideally, I would like to import three videos into the Adobe Media Encoder for re-encoding and merge them together into only one resulting video file.  Is this possible?

AME not importing AE comps

Hello,

I've been trying to use AME CC 2014 with AE CC 2014 and it's been very frustrating.

I'm on a Mac v10.9.4, 3.4 GHz Intel Core i7, 16gb memory

When I try to import an AE comp into AME a few things happen, or don't happen.  Sometimes folders show up and maybe a comp.  Then when I try to encode the app just hangs and doesn't seem to be doing anything.

- File > Import AE composition:  after clicking on an AE project, maybe a couple folders from the project will show up.  Maybe a couple comps with show up after 5mins of sitting idle

- Add source:  choosing an AE project, then nothing shows up in the window.  No comps, no folders.

- From AE, export to AME completely freezes AE.

Other things I've tried:

- Reinstalling AME

- Removing QT components

- Setting folder permissions to read+write for the Adobe folder in Library>Prefs.

- My firewall is turned off

Not sure if it matters, but I've tried even opening and using previous versions of AME and the same problem occurs.

It's really frustrating because what use to take a few clicks in AE to export a H264 has now turned into a long research project trying to fix software.

Any help is much appreciated!

Export Settings - Minimum Bit Rate Question (MPEG2-DVD)

Hi,

Curious...just came over recently from FCP and I don't remember Compressor giving me an option to adjust the MINIMUM bit rate when exporting HD projects for DVD. I figured I'd just leave it where the preset has it (at 2.8mbps minimum)...BUT...then I hovered over it and saw an interesting popup/explanation of what it does which kind of confuses me. It says:

Higher values set a higher minimum quality, but reduce quality of more difficult scenes.

The first part makes sense so I figured I'd raise it...but then the second part makes me think I should keep it low. Sort of confuses me. Any thoughts??? FYI: My projects are Weddings with a fair amount of action, etc.

....

Normally, these are my settings depending unless I can't fit the project onto the disc in which case I adjust:

DVD

CBR at 7.5mbps

...or...

VBR 2pass

Target Bit Rate: About 6.8 or 7mbps

Max Bit Rate: Usually 8mbps

BLURAY

VBR 2pass

Target Bit Rate: 25mbps

Max Bit Rate: 30mbps

Unless someone tells me that I should raise these settings higher for better quality output (if the project size allows of course) these are what I've been using to get maximum quality out of my videos without jepordizing playback due to bit rate max for each media (which I think I read was 10mb and 40 or 50mbps respectively. I was just thrown by the minimum bit rate description above.

Thank you in advance for your help!

Adobe Media Encoder: Audio won't export with video

I am trying to convert an AVCHD video for viewing on my iPad 3. I use Adobe Media Encoder and select the iPad 2 settings (1920x1080) and it exports the video perfect, but no audio. I have "Export Audio" checked off. I tried it with 5 other settings and it just wont include the audio. Any ideas?

Simple crop and the file size triples

Good day,

I'm trying to figure out why a video encoded using AME comes out with a much bigger file size than the original. Even if all I'm doing is using it to trim the source file. No change in settings, bit rate, dimensions etc.

In the current example I'm taking a webex recordings and trimming out some dead space in the beginning. I've lowered every setting (video and audio) I can to it's lowest potential and the resulting file looks worse than the original and is triple the file size. Both the source and the result are .mp4.

Please assist. The is making the files go from email-able to not. Making a video shorter shouldn't make it larger....

Thank you for your help.

No ProRes HQ Presets

The Adobe provided presets have ProRes 422 and and ProRes LT but no ProRes HQ, which is all I work with. Any way to get HQ presets for AME?

Download previous versions of Adobe Media Encoder through Creative Cloud?

Hi,

I have recently installed Adobe Media Encoder CC 2014 as part of the Creative Suite, but I would like to use a previous version of Media Encoder (such as 5.5 or 6) that supports exporting to .flv.

This is part of my current work flow to get 3D animation content in to Flash (embedding is the best way for me).

Your documentation states that I can download previous versions of software, but i cannot find where to download a previous version of Media Encoder for the mac platform.

Can you advise please?

Thanks,

Derrin

Export m4v from Premiere CS5 on mac

Hi,

I am trying to output a .m4v (one single file that has video and audio together) from Premiere Pro CS5 on mac.

Settings I have tired are:

h.264

h.264-bluray

Apple TV

The file will be used on iphone and ipad devices; however, Premiere can only output the file in two tracks (audio and video seperately).

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ +++++++++++

Method I also tried is:

Export my video to .mov

Open .mov at Quick Time Pro

Use Quick Time Pro Save As - Apple TV format.

However, it only provide as large as 960x480 size.

I need a Setting to control my video dimension as well.

Anyone can help?

-thanks ahead,

AME is only using one processing core out of six.

I have not been able to figure out why AME is only using one of the six processing cores that I have in my Core i7 hex core processor.  I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit and the latest version of AME 2014 CC.  When I render in Premiere Pro CC 2014 all cores are utilized.  The codec that I'm using in AME is "YouTube SD 480P 29.97 - H.264".  The video that is being encoded is fairly complex but it is only 30 minutes long and AME is estimating 18 hours to completion.  That seems pretty excessive for that length of video.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Can't reinstall media encoder CC (Windows)

Hello There & Help!

Media Encoder CC Has Disappeared and Can't Be found!

My Media Encoder CC is gone and won't return.  I tried uninstalling After Effects and Premiere Pro, then reinstalling on the assumption it was part of one of thsoe two packages, but alas ... still no Media Encoder.  What do I do?

Apply Interpret Footage settings to multiple sources at the same time.

I would like to be able to select multiple sources and conform their Pixel Aspect Ratio from "D1/DV NTSC (0.9091)" to "D1/DV NTSC Widescreen 16:9 (1.2121)"

I would like to also be able to use watch folders in this way.

I was informed that this was possible using scripts and I should post this question on the forum.

How do you use scripts?  And how would can I achieve the above using a script?

I need to be able to do this so when I choose the "Broadcast - H.264 - NTSC DV Widescreen" preset that I don't have black bars on the sides.  Even though our camera's are Widescreen the AJA card we use to capture our mix records in 4:3 aspect ratio.

Using:

  Windows 7 (Fully Updated)

Adobe Media Encoder CC (Fully Updated)

Thanks,
Daniel
