No Dolby AC3 presets showing up

$

I've been using Adobe Media Encoder CD6 since it was released and finding it vastly superior to Compressor in regards to output quality. The only problem I had been having was that it didn't have a preset for Dolby AC3, so I would do the video in AME and audio in Compressor.

Finally had the bright idea to see if there was a download or something over on Adobe to 'fix' this problem, and discovered that it was supposed to be having the preset all along. However, the information said that it was due to purchasing the program as part of the cloud, which I didn't do (I upgraded my Production Suite), and that it was corrected with version 6.0.1, which I already installed. As this is the only information I can find on Adobe about this problem, I'm wondering what can I do to get the presets (and if anybody else had the problem)

Thanks

The Adobe provided presets have ProRes 422 and and ProRes LT but no ProRes HQ, which is all I work with. Any way to get HQ presets for AME?

selecting multiple files and adding/changing output folder

Is there a way to select multiple files in Adobe Media Encoder CS5.5 and change or add the output folder for all? It would be great if the output folder could be set in the Preset rather than in the AME Preference.

Premiere CS6 not exporting to ME6 Queue

I've had nothing but success with Premiere Pro CS6, but the ability to Queue up videos to Media Encoder CS6 suddenly stopped functioning (nothing happened that I'm aware of). I'm able to Export just fine from Premiere and can add manually to ME, but cannot export to the queue list.

This happens after reboot, with different video files, and when the renderings are deleted or not. MECS6 will open, but just sit there. Any ideas of what would be going on?

Media Encoder not starting from Premiere Pro

I'm having issues Exporting from Premiere Pro - I'd rather queue it through Media Encoder so I can move onto the next edit, but when I select Queue and Media Encoder opens, it doesn't do anything - simply sits there with "Not Currently Encoding" as opposed to importing the data to export.

Help?

  • Adobe Media Encoder, 6.0.2.81
  • Also installed other CC products Ps, Pr, Id, Lr, Ai, etc
  • I have run Adobe Updater but no updates available for Me.
  • Mac OS X 10.7.5 (Lion)
  • I am using Adobe Media Encoder through a Creative Cloud Membership subscription
  • Project is 6 minute film shot on Sony FS700 (AVCHD) and exports from Premiere Pro
  • No error message, just no action from the Application
  • Have not seen the problem before - most of my work is vi Canon 5D MK III, so maybe it's a Sony Codec issue? Though I have exported footage from this camera before though...
  • Apple MacBook Pro, 17",
  • I am using  Mercury Playback Engine GPU Acceleration in Premiere Pro

Cheers

Really need help with AME Adobe Media Encoder crash on startup.

Hey all, this is my first time posting in these forums.

I have Adobe Design Premium and need to use the included Media Encoder for a project I'm working on.  It opened well the first time, and I started converting a file - at which point it crashed.  Since then, when I start it, it shows the startup / loading image, but once finished opening disappears and closes itself.  I've tried reinstallig, no dice.  I also read the plugin log files (My Documents > Adobe > Adobe Media Encoder > Log Files) - nothing out of the ordinary.

Very stuck and very frustrated - any suggestions would be really appreciated.

Thanks!

Missing AME CS6 Presets

Not sure why I cannot chose Quicktime or AVI in Media Encoder. I can render out any way I want from Premiere. I can render/export directly from Premiere, but when I queue it out to AME it defaults to F4V and won't even give me an option for Quicktime (DNxHD) or AVI (Cineform).

Here are my options in Premiere (normal)

Here it is in AME once it's been queued out from Premiere.

What gives? I have CS6 updated completely as of today, 6/22.

Media Encoder CS6 Not using all CPU Cores or RAM

I'm currently exporting a 90 second video (using the Vimeo HD 1080p preset), and it is taking about 30 minutes. This is extremely strange as I have an i7-990x OC'ed @4.5, 12GB RAM, SSD, etc.

I looked at Performance tab in Windows Task Manager, and saw 4 threads were not being used at all, only 20-25% of the CPU was in use, and only 6GB out of the 9GB I specified was being used.

Why isn't Media Encoder making full use of my CPU and RAM?

Export Settings - Minimum Bit Rate Question (MPEG2-DVD)

$

Hi,

Curious...just came over recently from FCP and I don't remember Compressor giving me an option to adjust the MINIMUM bit rate when exporting HD projects for DVD. I figured I'd just leave it where the preset has it (at 2.8mbps minimum)...BUT...then I hovered over it and saw an interesting popup/explanation of what it does which kind of confuses me. It says:

Higher values set a higher minimum quality, but reduce quality of more difficult scenes.

The first part makes sense so I figured I'd raise it...but then the second part makes me think I should keep it low. Sort of confuses me. Any thoughts??? FYI: My projects are Weddings with a fair amount of action, etc.

....

Normally, these are my settings depending unless I can't fit the project onto the disc in which case I adjust:

DVD

CBR at 7.5mbps

...or...

VBR 2pass

Target Bit Rate: About 6.8 or 7mbps

Max Bit Rate: Usually 8mbps

BLURAY

VBR 2pass

Target Bit Rate: 25mbps

Max Bit Rate: 30mbps

Unless someone tells me that I should raise these settings higher for better quality output (if the project size allows of course) these are what I've been using to get maximum quality out of my videos without jepordizing playback due to bit rate max for each media (which I think I read was 10mb and 40 or 50mbps respectively. I was just thrown by the minimum bit rate description above.

Thank you in advance for your help!

How to change variable frame rate to constant?

$

Hello,

I am exporting a mpeg HDV file that has a constant frame rate to a H264 video (.mp4) video to upload to a web-base video player. I'm actually using the preset in Media Encoder "YouTube HD 720p 29.97".

The online video web interface I use requires a constant frame rate. But when looking at the video in MediaInfo it shows the video file as a variable frame rate. After looking through the settings in Media Encoder I cannot find any option to correct that.  I see where you can change the frame rate and it is at 29.97. So you would think it would be constant but it is not. And it does not have any settings, that I can see, to change from variable to constant. I do see the bitrate settings, but that is not the issue.

I also have Apple Compressor and that successfuly does a constant frame rate, but if possible I'd rather use Adobe Media Encoder. So does anybody know how to change this setting? Thank you

Compatibility of export presets between CS5.5 and CS6?

$

I have a ton of custom presets that I've developed over several years. I tried importing them into CS6 by copying the custom presets from here:

\Users\<user_name>\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Common\AME\5.0

to here:

\Users\<user_name>\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Common\AME\6.0

I can see the custom presets in AME but only SOME of the presets in the export settings format/preset boxes from Premiere Pro CS6. e.g. AVI show up but not the presets for H264 or Windows Media formats etc (they don't appear).

Are the presets incompatible between CS5.5 and CS6 for some formats (maybe there are new settings that weren't in the old version)?

Thanks,

Paul.

Help! AME CS6 WMV Codecs Missing on MAC OS

$

Hi,

I have installed AME CS6 as part of Premiere Pro CS6 on my MAC (running MAC OS X 10.7.4) via Adobe Creative Cloud but the WMV Codecs are missing. I have already installed the Adobe Media Encoder CS6 (6.0.1) update too and my Adobe Application Manager is saying that all updates have been applied.

Please help as I need to output WMV files weekly and currently I'm having to transfer everything back to my Windows machine and encode the WMVs on AME CS5 which is really not workable for me!

Thanks

MPEG-2 codecs missing from Adobe Media Encoder CS6 installed with Creative Cloud Membership

Some people who have downloaded Adobe Media Encoder with Premiere Pro CS6 as part of a Creative Cloud Membership subscription have a problem in which the MPEG2, MPEG2-DVD, MPEG2-Blu-ray, Dolby Digital, & MXF OP1a codecs are missing.

To fix this issue, install the Adobe Media Encoder CS6 (6.0.1) update.

Black bars when downconverting HD to SD

I am trying to use Media Encoder CS5.5 downconvert a HD clip (1920 x 1080) to DV PAL anamorphic (720 x 576) .

However there only seem to be 2 choice for me in the export menu in terms of pixel aspect ratio.

By selecting D1/DV PAL, the exported clip is a 4:3 letterboxed video - which is not what I want.

By selecting D1/DV PAL widescreen, the exported clip is an almost-correct anamorphic video.

I say 'almost-correct' because there are narrow black bars on the left and right side of the exported clip.

The image below shows the preview of the exported clip (with black bars at the side)

Does anyone know the reason for the black bars at the sides? And how can I get rid of them.

Thanks.

No audio on export

I'm baffled by this problem and really need to find a solution ASAP.  I am using creative cloud, and files fed directly into media encoder are exporting silent audio tracks.  Media encoder appears to complete the export, but the resulting files have no sound.

If I export the same clip from premiere pro from the timeline it works just fine and audio is present.

My theory is that media encoder isn't conforming the audio clips it imports.  Any thoughts or fixes?  Has anyone here had this issue?  Thanks!

problem: import image sequence in adobe media encoder

$

Hi

have a problem with adobe media encoder CS6, in media encoder preferences I change the Display Format to 25 frame timecode, I import a serial of TGA (170 frame) to media encoder as a TGA image file Sequence, this serial generated from 3D Max and ToonBoom applications, the specification of TGA serial 1080 50i "1920X1080 - upper filed - 25 fps", when I import the sequence, media encoder recognize the sequence as 1920X1080 - progressive - 29.97 fps, in interpret Footage options window I change the settings of the sequence to upper filed - 25 fps, and I export it to quicktime mov 1920X1080 - upper filed - 25 fps uncompressed

the problem:

the duration of mov file is 06:20 and that is correct for 170 frame as 25 fps but the mov file not contain all tga serial image, the image freeze at time code 05:16 (frame number 142) and duplicate the frame 142 to the rest of movie file

if I don't change the frame rate in interpret Footage options window for the tga sequence which media encoder recognize it as 29.97 fps, the mov file contain all TGA frames but with duration of 05:16 which not 25 fps

in adobe media encoder CS5.5 I don't get this problem at all

1- how to solve this problem ??

2- how to force adobe media encoder CS6 to recognize the imported image sequence as 25 fps frame rate ??

Windows 7 Ultimate SP1, Adobe Creative Suite Master Collection CS6

thanks

Adobe Media Encoder cs5 - No audio

I am using Adobe Media Encoder cs5 version 5.0.1.0 on a Windows XP Service Pack 3 32-bit machine.  None of the wmv or avi files I try to encode have the audio track encoded.  I have tried encoding with both the "F4V - Match Source Attributes" and "FLV - Web 640 x 480" presets.  Neither of these encode the audio output at all.  The audio track plays correctly in Windows Media Player.  Has anyone else had this problem?

Adobe Media Encoder CS6 (6.0.1) update available

The Adobe Media Encoder CS6 (6.0.1) update is available.

It has bug fixes and some new features.

You'll see from the post above that one of the features is left somewhat unexplained for the moment. That's because we wanted to get the bug fixes for Adobe Media Encoder out as soon as possible, rather than hold this update and wait for it to coincide with certain other events. Stay tuned. We'll have more information about that new feature quite soon.

I am trying to convert an AVCHD video for viewing on my iPad 3. I use Adobe Media Encoder and select the iPad 2 settings (1920x1080) and it exports the video perfect, but no audio. I have "Export Audio" checked off. I tried it with 5 other settings and it just wont include the audio. Any ideas?
