Media Encoder Stops Encoding with the New CS5.5

$

I just upgraded to CS5.5 a yesterday and having some issues encoding an 1 1/2 program for a DVD. The program doesn't seem to crash per se, just stops encoding. The task manager says it's running. I tried to encode the same sequence, but shorter and have the in and out points go through the part where it always stops and it worked fine. It's just when I try the entire sequence it stops. Anyone have any experience like this with CS5.5 just coming out?

Thank you,

Best Export Settings for DVD burning and Computer viewing

Hello,

I am trying to export a 1 hour video that I need to be compatible with standard DVD players as well as viewable on any computer.

Original footage was shot with a Canon 5d Mark ii in 24fps.

I have done all of my editing in Premiere Pro CS6. From there, I exported a high quality file to bring into Media Encoder (for trials of best output). My master file from Premiere was exported with the Preset MPEG2. The only thing I changed in the preset was VBR from 1 pass to 2 pass.. This gave me a 6.2 GB file.

I then brought that file into Media Encoder where I have tried the following presets:

MPEG2-DVD - Match Source Attributes

MPEG2-DVD - NTSC 23.976fps Widescreen High Quality

MPEG2 - HDTV 720p 23.976 High Quality

MPEG2 - NTSC DV High Quality

These settings have encountered various issues.. some have significant banding, but most importantly, none of them will play on my DVD player when I burn them to a disc.

The discs I am using are Sony DVD-RW with a 4.7GB capacity.

Where am I going wrong here? From what I've read, the format needs to be MPEG2 to be viewed on DVD... Sorry if I sound ignorant! This stuff is tricky..

Adobe Media Encoder has encountered an error. [..\..\Src\ExporterParam. cpp-509]

We try to render 400+ AEP. I've got a watch folder set up to export AE projects with next settings: H.264 (1280x720, FPS 25, VBR 2 pass, 1.5 target 2 max; AAC 48000Hz, 320 kbps). The error appeared within the first 30 projects:

Adobe Media Encoder has encountered an error.  [..\..\Src\ExporterParam. cpp-509]

we had 400+ videos going overnight, it might only do so many of them before the error arised. When I clicked to continue render proccess (at that point where it stopped) AME started doing that but without images and video files (it didn't find the path to the project files).

Can anybody help with this, please?

Convert .vob files

First off, thanks in advance for any assistance. I am a CFer and do not work with media too much, but I have been asked if I can take a video a guy made and put it on his website. He gave me the dvd and it is in .vob format. I cannot seem to open it up within AME. I tried even changing the extension to .mpg and it did not work.

Thoughts?

I see that finally the new version of AME supports encoding in h265. I opened AME but I'm not able to find the h.265 preset. Where is it/what is its name?

Thanks in advance

Adobe Media Encoder CC 2015 H.264 export, very bad quality compared to VLC

Hi

I make some screencast with VLC Media Player (www.videolan.org, free and open source), it captures my desktop and exports the file in H.264 at 25 fps. Then I edit this in PPro and also export the clip in H.264.

All is well but... The original video files from VLC has a top quality with a very low bitrate (200 Kbits/s), and when I try to export the edited video with the same bitrate from AME, the quality is just horrible! Artifacts, blurred, with some blocks... Even if I export with a bitrate more than 20x higher than the original file (4400 Kbits/s), the quality is not as good as the original.

Here is a comparison between the three exports:

comparison.png

Can you explain me why there is a so big difference even if the bitrate is multiplied by 20? Here are the export parameters (with a bitrate of 400 Kbits/s):

Thanks a lot for your help and please excuse my poor english

Adobe Media Encoder wont support HEVC all of the sudden

So I been digging the CC 2015 Media Programs now since launch, but SpeedGrade has had issues and now suddenly Media Encoder has issues for me as well, it used to support HEVC/H.265 just fine a few weeks ago but now it wont work no more after I updated it updated to the latest version, Premiere Pro is in the latest version and supports the HEVC codec just fine but Media Encoder refuses to support it, I also lack the OP1 MXF wrapper with the XAVC and AVC codecs.

Does anyone have any idea what is going on? I tried uninstall and reinstall the program but it keeps installing the newest version, so I tried getting the standalone version of it to use the very first release of the Media Encoder and it still wont work. What is going on here?

The program gives me the following message everytime I try to export a HEVC sourced project. This file requires HEVC codec

Adobe Media Encoder: Audio won't export with video

I am trying to convert an AVCHD video for viewing on my iPad 3. I use Adobe Media Encoder and select the iPad 2 settings (1920x1080) and it exports the video perfect, but no audio. I have "Export Audio" checked off. I tried it with 5 other settings and it just wont include the audio. Any ideas?

How to render out JUST Alpha in Media Encoder

$

So apparently Adobe has changed their settings in CC 2014 and Adobe After Effects no longer has the H.264 container, and is only offered as a codec for Qucktime. I've been told I have to go into Adobe Media Encoder for the H.264 codec. That's fine, problem is that Adobe Media Encoder does not really have any options for Alpha. From my understanding you have to set it to 32bpc for it to do alpha in a file, which did not seem to work, but that's irrelevant now because that's not what I need. I need to render out two files for a batch list, one with just RGB files and one with just alpha. I talked to someone from Adobe and they suggested I post here. Let me know if you need details.

Thank you very much.

Several TV-stations require you to deliver this format. On a Mac, you'd have it in a Quicktime, I guess. But since I'm on Windows, could someone please link to a preset for Adobe Media Encoder? If not, list all the correct parameters?

Fast Start Encoding Option?

$

Hi,

I've been searching online and reading through the forum articles about exporting from Premiere and AME with the 'Fast Start' encoding option for quicktime movie files in the h.264 codec.

A lot of the information I've gathered is around the 'moov atom' and how it's commonly placed at the end of a file. For the progressive nature of playback to occur this atom apparently needs to be at the beginning of the file. Forum articles and others have suggested using third party, line based applications to change this atom position. This seems ridiculous to me as it complicates my workflow.

I have recently switched from the Apple Studio products to Adobe's and in the past I would simply check 'encode for fast start' on the export menu and this would encode the file properly.

Does Adobe have this function built into the program? Am I overlooking something? Is there is a better workflow that I am unaware of?

How best can I encode my videos so that they will buffer a small amount and then progressively download the rest as the viewers watches it?

Thank you all kindly in advance for your help.

How to change variable frame rate to constant?

$

Hello,

I am exporting a mpeg HDV file that has a constant frame rate to a H264 video (.mp4) video to upload to a web-base video player. I'm actually using the preset in Media Encoder "YouTube HD 720p 29.97".

The online video web interface I use requires a constant frame rate. But when looking at the video in MediaInfo it shows the video file as a variable frame rate. After looking through the settings in Media Encoder I cannot find any option to correct that.  I see where you can change the frame rate and it is at 29.97. So you would think it would be constant but it is not. And it does not have any settings, that I can see, to change from variable to constant. I do see the bitrate settings, but that is not the issue.

I also have Apple Compressor and that successfuly does a constant frame rate, but if possible I'd rather use Adobe Media Encoder. So does anybody know how to change this setting? Thank you

Media Encoder Export to h.264 Keeps Erroring

I am using the YouTube 1080p 30fps preset and twice now I have had an export of the same project fail. The error log states:

"File importer detected an inconsistency in the file structure of Accident Reenactment.mp4.  Reading and writing this file's metadata (XMP) has been disabled.

The result is a small file of 24 bytes, so the video doesn't even get created. I have exported this same project to DVD and ProRes with no issue, so I have no idea what the problem is.

Here is the whole section from this export:
