Send a render job to Media Encoder on another system?

$

I am a recovering Final Cut Pro user. Switched over about version FCP X 10.3. The railroad tie that broke the camel's back for me was a removed feature I am hoping I can do with Premiere in some way.

In FCP 7 and even FCP X up to 10.3, you had the option of sending a render job to their version of Media Encoder (Called "compressor") just like Premiere Pro can do now. However, you had the option of being able to use a "render cluster" by where if compressor was loaded onto other macs on your network, it would send the job out to one of those nodes or even split it up and send parts of it to several computers to parallel encode the job. Made large jobs faster and allowed you to not have to bog down your processors on you main computer with a render job. Apple just took it out with 10.4, which was a deal breaker for me.

I know Premiere/Media Encoder does not have the ability to split the job up, but was wondering if there as a way I could send a render job to Queue up on the Media Encoder of another system...say my Mac mini server which also has Media Encoder on it. Is there any way to select the path to the Media Encoder and thus have it deploy the render job to the other machine?

Thanks.

Hi.

However, the H265 codec is missing in the Media Encoder program.
This is very important for me. What should I do?

Please help me.

The systems and programs I use are as follows:

- New MacBook Pro Touch Bar (Max. Hardware)

macOS High Sierra 10.13.2

3.1 GHz Intel Core i7

16 GB 2133 MHz RAM

Radeon Pro 560

2TB SSD

- Adobe Media Encoder CC 12.0 (Build 202) (up-to-date)

- Adobe After Effects CC 2018 15.0.0 (Build 180) (up-to-date)

- Adobe Premiere Pro CC 12.0.0 (Build 224) (up-to-date)

Media Encoder CC 2015 Not rendering Lumetri effects

$

Mac OS 10.10.3

Mac Pro 2013 2.7Ghz 12 core

64GB 1866 MHz DDR3 ECC

AMD FirePro D700 6144 MB

Ive tried the following with Red Raw, Pro Res and  .mp4 footage.  If I add a Lumetri Color effect to a clip or adjustment layer and queue the timeline to Media encoder, no color effects show up on the final compressed file. The only way to get the color effect to show up is to bypass media compressor entirely and export directly from Premiere which stops me from working in Premiere. This is one of many issues I have had with this VERY buggy release. Anybody else experiencing this issue?

Using Media Encoder to convert Variable frame rate video to Constant

This was the "answered" answer on a post from 2012. vv

Hi CLCTV,

To close this thread, exports interpreted as variable frame rate are now interpreted as constant in AME CC 2014 (8.0), and later. Please create a new thread if you are still having trouble with this issue.

Thanks,

Kevin

Could someone explain with detail how Media Encoder is able to convert a Variable frame rate video to constant? I am personally working with a live stream video and trying to add front and back bumpers in post.

Thanks!

How to change render resolution of After Effects project in Adobe Media Encoder for an H264 preview?

$

I'd like to render a 1080i comp at half resolution or third resolution in AME to speed up render times for low-res previews. I just had a low-res H264 preview take 5 minutes to encode in AE, and 28 minutes in AME.

This is easily accomplished in the After Effects render settings. However, the "video" option in AME seems to imply the project is encoded at that resolution, not rendered at it.

I went into AE and changed the setting in the composition viewport to "half", but when I queue it up in AME, the "Match Source" button still indicates 1080.

What is the correct method to get the results I want?

I'm currently using AE CC and AME CC on Windows.

Exporter returned bad result

I just updated both Premiere and Encoder to the latest versions and opened an older Premiere project (from CC 9.1) to export them through Encoder as 422HQ Quicktime file. Both open fine and seem to export fine directly through Premiere, and Queue up fine in Encoder...however, the encoding fails instantly (before any progress bar can even appear).

Consistently getting the following error on any Quicktime export (422, 422HQ, Animation, etc.) although H264 renders work fine. Any ideas? I've never seen such a long error code, nor had renders fail so quickly.

Running CC on a 2012 iMac, 3.2Ghz Intel Core i5 running OS 10.11.6.

Thanks for any insight!

No audio when using 2017 Media Encoder

Hi,

I'm having issues with the 2017 version of Media Encoder.

To start, I exported my files from Adobe Premiere CC 2017 version. I have no problems with audio. Sound is there with the file(s). Everything looks good.

Then, when I use the media encoder to change to another format, I get no audio at all. All of my clips from the new ME has no audio.

I have cleaned the media cache from both Premiere and ME. I also re-installed Media Encoder 2017. So far, nothing has worked. Still no audio on files.

Everything was fine with previous version. Any suggestions?

How can I download Media Encoder CC 2014?

I need to use CC 2014 because I'm running that version of AE. When I look at the 'previous versions' in the CC app, it only offers CC 2017 and CC. How can I get CC 2014?

Hi,

I have  After Effects 2018 (Version 15) and the latest Media Encoder 2018 (Version 12) installed.
When I add to Media encoder queue from AE 2018, it does not link. Same when I try to add a project inside the Media Encoder.
The error that is shown is "Could not connect to Adobe After Effects. Please verify that Adobe After Effects and Adobe Dynamic Link components are installed"

Is there a way to select multiple files in Adobe Media Encoder CS5.5 and change or add the output folder for all? It would be great if the output folder could be set in the Preset rather than in the AME Preference.

Media Encoder isn't using GPU to render

$

I know there are tons of threads out there that ask this question, but a lot of them seem older and don't have proper answers.

When rendering my files from Adobe Premiere Pro CC 2018, it always uses my CPU entirely for rendering the finished product. This takes a really long time, as I have an i5-6500 (Quad Core clocked at base 3.2Ghz), so files can take between their own length to twice the video length to render.

When I select to use the Mercury Playback Engine, which explicitly states it uses my GPU to render, I still see 100% CPU usage with the standard idle GPU usage I get (0-2%). Not only is it selected as my Renderer in ME, but it's also selected as the default Renderer in Premiere Pro's project settings.

Sony Vegas Pro, the competitor to Premiere/AE/ME, renders on the GPU moreso than Adobe's products do. If the answer to this question is "not all effects render on the GPU, at the peak end of 2017 mind you (not 1998), then I have to sincerely raise an eyebrow how only cutting a video's length by a bit can somehow render slowly or doesn't constitute as "available to render on a GPU".

Though, if anyone has an idea of what I may be doing wrong that can be troubleshooted, I appreciate any help I can get!

Edit: I realized that I forgot to give some vital information in this regard.

My specs:

Windows 10 (64-bit Pro)

Intel i5-6500 (Quad Core, 3.2Ghz)

8GB DDR4 RAM

AMD RX460

Adobe CC is installed on my boot drive (SSD)

Files are rendering to a 2TB 7200RPM HDD

I'm checking performance via Task Manager (It shows GPU usage when games are using it all the time)

Video is stuttering when changing speed

$

Hello,

I have cut 4K footage, from DJI Inspire, with the latest Adobe Premiere CC and made the rendering with Adobe Media Encoder for the final result. For any reason, the movie starts to stutter when the camera is panning. This only appears when I change the speed to make the clip run faster. I currently use 135%.

These are my export settings. Sorry it's in German I think you know the meaning

screen1.jpg

screen2.jpg

Here is the video. You can see the stuttering beginning at 0:56 Min. The whole video is on 135% of speed.

Any ideas why this is happen? I tried it to render on two differnt PC's Win 7 and Win 10. Both with Intel i7 CPU 10GB and 16GB RAM.This happens also when I export to full HD.

Any ideas how to solve this?

Best regards.

Convert Mp4 Video to MJPEG

I made a PowerPoint 2016 slide show that needed to be converted to MJPEG so it can display on an HD television. The tv only supports this video format. PowerPoint doesn't support exporting to mjpeg directly so I exported my PPTX file to mp4, hoping I could convert this with Media Encoder. I opened ME but I don't see the mjpeg format in the Format drop-down in the Export Settings.

Can anyone recommend a reliable way to convert mp4 over to MJEG?

Stuck at 100%

Hi.

I'm trying to render out a batch of files from AME, but they keep getting stuck at 100%, and never finishing.

AME creates 3 files, a video file, an audio file and the container, but never merges them into one complete file.

Everything seems to render normally if l render directly from Premiere Pro, but as l have a ton of files l need to render out for archiving l'd love to be able to queue it up..

My render settings are:

- H.264/mp4

- Video: 1920x1080 (1,0), 25 fps, Progressive

- Audio: AAC, 160 kbps, 48 kHz, Stereo

- Bitrate: VBR, 2 pass, Target 10.00 Mbps, Max 12.00 Mbps

- The source was deinterlaced

Source files are P2 media; DVCPRO HD.

I am rendering on:

iMac 21,5" late 2012

OS X 10.8.5

CPU: Intel i7 - 3,1GHZ Quad Core

GPU: Nvidia GeForce GT650M 512MB

HD: 251GB SSD / 100 GB free.

RAM: 8+8GB DDR3 1600MHz

with:

Adobe Media Encoder CC (v. 7.2.2.29)

I have tried saving locally, to an external Thunderbolt drive, and to our ReadyNAS server with the same issue.

Any tips?

Regards,

Kristian

How to Convert mp4 or mov files to avi for epson projector?

I am running media encoder on a mac. I have an .mp4 file which is also available as a .mov file but I need it to be an .avi file with linear PCM codec so that I can play it from a thumb drive on my projector. I used a converter to convert the file to .avi but it still doesn't play on the epson projector.

Can you help me achieve this?

There is no .avi option in my premier pro or the media encoder.

Thanks

Profile and Level? Please help explain

$

When exporting footage I generally use AME, and I periodically get error messages that talk about increasing the Profile and Level, but I have no idea what those mean or do. I mean, I read the help guide (http://helpx.adobe.com/media-encoder/using/export-settings-reference.html#video_exports_se ttings), but the explanations for Profile and Level are one-liners that explain all of diddly squat. So with what little cryptic info I've found on the interwebses, I've basically blindly adjusted settings til I've gotten something close to what I want or need. I'd MUCH rather like to understand what they are and how they affect my output so I can actively problem solve on my own. Sooo.....

1a.) What are Profile and Level and what do they do?

1b.) What do the different numerical representations of Level mean/do? The range of choices (1.0, 1.1, 1.2, 1.3, 2.0, 2.1, 2.2, 3.0, 3.1, 3.2, 4.0, 4.1, 4.2, 5.0, 5.1) appears random to my uneducated brain, which likely means there is actually a very good explanation and precise specifications for each one.

2a.) What are some real world applications of given settings? What's common/widely accepted and used?

Thanks!

Thanks,

Kevin

Alpha Channel / Media Encoder Question

$

Hello All,

I have a question that I think is just something I'm overlooking. I have a Comp with a logo. The logo is made up of various files and does not have a solid background. It's very similar to a lower third. When I render it out in AE via the Render Que I have no issues and the Alpha channel works as expected when imported into PPRO. The setting I use is QuickTime>Animation>RGB+Alpha, etc.

This morning I decided I wanted to start rendering via Media Encoder. I watched the video Colin Smith did a bout a year ago to refresh my memory.

I fired up Media Encoder, dragged my logo comp into ME and everything seemed to being going beautifully. I chose QuickTime> Animation codec>etc.

However when imported the file into PPRO the Alpha channel did not render. Where the Alpha channel is supposed to be PPRO read as black video. I went back in ME and doubled checked all of the settings. I do not see anywhere in ME where you can specify an Alpha channel as you can in AE where you can specify "RGB+Alpha".

Is there a setting in ME to activate/read the alpha channel that I'm missing? I'd really like to use ME for future AE comp renderings but unless I can get around the Alpha channel issue I won't be able to.

CS6 all up to date

Win Vista (not that I think any system specs matter in this instance).

Thank you in advance,

Shane
