Using Cuda (NVIDIA) doesn't speed up encoding

Hello,

I'm using a workstation with an Intel core i7 (quadcore) and a professional Nvidia quadro graphics card. The system has 16GByte Memory. The OS is Windows 8.1 Pro 64Bit.

The Media Encoder CC offers two rendering options: "Mercury Playback Engine GPU Acceleration (CUDA)" and "Mercury Playback Engine Software Only".

Even plain video re-encoding (import a video file, create composition without any changes and send it to the encoder) is _horribly_ slow. And it doesn't make any difference whether I select the CUDA-accelerated renderer or the software-version. The time needed is the same.

The freeware tool "Handbrake" encodes the same file almost 10 times faster without any CUDA options. Of course on the same machine.

I already had a view on the log-files. There is no error shown (only some tasks interrupted by the user).

Does anyone know what's going on here?
